Medevol attends NIMAC conference in Helsinki

Medevol was delighted to attend The Northern Ireland Massachusetts Connection (NIMAC) Conference in Helsinki In April 2011. We received a warm welcome to the conference from Erkki Virtanen, Permanent Secretary, Finland and the President of the Massachusetts Senate, Therese Murray outlined the aims of the NIMAC collaboration. The conference was packed with speakers from the research community covering Mobile Health Technology, Neurotechnology and Diabetes.

The 3 day agenda was extremely busy and presented the NI delegates with a great opportunity to learn of the innovative research projects going on both in Finland and Boston. We can be in no doubt of their willingness to collaborate on innovative projects and it will be up to each of us to move forward and translate this willingness into concrete projects that will benefit us all.

Medical report writing: Medevol Limited has added Medical Report writing to the services it offers. Increasingly we are seeing companies look to their CRO to provide that extra support to get their clinical study completed and that important data published or presented at key conferences. New Primary Care Sites: Medevol would like to hear from new primary care sites that are thinking of taking part in clinical trials. We are happy to come out to your practice and have a discussion about what is involved and what you need to do before you can take part in a clinical trial. Training evening in October

Investigators please take note: Medevol will be sending out a provisional date for our ICH GCP training evening shortly, we are planning to hold this at the end of October in the NI Science Park. We hope as many of you as possible will attend.

Medevol meets key stakeholders at BioConnect Ireland

Medevol Limited attended the excellent BioConnect Ireland network meeting in early June in Dublin which was entitled “Phase to Phase with Ireland’s Clinical Trial Potential”. The message is clear if we are to compete on a global stage we must ensure we have the infrastructure in place to support a streamlined set up to ensure we are afforded the best chance to recruit patients within competitive timeframes…..

BioConnect Ireland was founded to promote forward-thinking interaction and exchange between all the stakeholders in academia, industry, government agencies, trade, professional services and financial organizations that are involved in biotechnology, life science and medical devices in Ireland, North and South. Ann Hever from the Irish Health Research Board outlined their plan to develop a coherent health research system. The potential to increase the number of clinical trials being conducted in Ireland is clear when you compare the number of open clinical trials in Ireland with like sized Nordic countries where we see up to 5 times the number of trials being conducted.

Medevol was pleased to attend the 3rd annual Translational Conference in Derry/Londonderry on May 5th and 6th this year. The theme for this year’s conference was “ Tackling the Burden of Chronic Illness associated with Diabetes and mental Health.

BIO- Europe Conference 2009

Medevol Ltd attended the BIO Europe conference Vienna Nov 2-4^th 2009, as part of the wider UKTI delegation. This event is the largest life science partnering event outside the US. With over 2500 delegates we had the opportunity to meet with a wide variety of companies who target different stages of the drug development process. These conferences afford us the opportunity to show case Northern Ireland as a country that can deliver excellent data within challenging timelines and at a competitive cost.
